PROACTIVE PRE-PRODUCTION NOTES
We understand that you are tremendously busy throughout the whole night shift, but never more so than from the time you arrive on site to the time production starts... undertaking a huge variety of pre-production checks, inspection and preventative work. However, we believe many of these critical pre-production tasks you carry out go unrecorded.

It is now critical Amazon know just how much you all do as part of your nightly proactive pre-production checks and inspection processes (and any corrective work). As such, we must encourage you to post notes of all proactive pre-production works into the WhatsApp Group.
To save you time, we have detailed below a list of servicing jobs which may form part of your proactive pre-production work.

PROACTIVE PRE-PRODUCTION WORKS
6MTR FIXED DRIVEN CONVEYOR SECTIONS AND BENDS

All drive motor terminal boxes checked ensure all terminals are tight, fuses and fuse holders checked, ensure pulley guard is tight and secure, motor cradle is secure, motor and pulley aligned and secure, motor brushes checked for wear and replaced were needed, drive bands are in good condition if not will be replaced were needed​.

All rollers checked for damage, worn bearings, sticky labels and debris removed, check and tighten were needed all shaft bolts, replace were needed with site stock.
​​

All bands checked for wear, flat spots, stretched, replace were needed with site stock.
-
All side frames cleared of debris and checked for damage, split welds, level and alignment.
​​
-
All leg sets cross braces and feet checked for damaged, cracked welds, cleaned of debris checking floor fixing and leg bolts are tight and secure check level and alignment.
​​

All e-stops and operator buttons function correctly, checking button contact terminals are tight and secure.
-
All corrected H/S signage is present E/stop, high voltage, finger nip, button legends.
-
All wiring to operator button stations, plug/sockets, conduits, cable trays are all secure and no damage frayed or exposed wires and not hanging on the floor, full function test of all buttons and e-stops.

Master junction boxes, check all terminals are tight and secure, glands secure.
​​

Speed controller unit, check secure and wiring secure.

Check all transfer brackets, skate wheels and nylon wear strips adjust were needed.

Check performance of conveyor with test weight parcel ensuring no dead spots and remedy were needed.
​​

Check the speeds are set correct for all conveyors, correct were needed.
​
FIXED BELT DRIVEN FLATBED CONVEYOR

Check motor windings, terminal connections remove fan cowling and clean, check all wiring to motor for frayed damaged or wires exposed, check local field isolator, cable trays and conduits.

Check the belt condition, under width, frayed edges, holes in the belt, belt join, tracking of the belt.
​​
-
Check level and alignment of the whole section adjust were needed.
​​
-
Remove all debris and clean off.
​​
-
Check side frames, cross braces and leg set for level alignment, damage, cracked welds and floor fixing adjust or repair were needed.
​​

Check the speed of the belt adjust if needed.
​
MOBILE GRAVITY ROLLER CONVEYOR

Check all rollers for worn bearings, shafts or body replace if needed.
​​

Check all rollers for damage, worn bearings and shafts, replace were needed.
-
Check side frames are level and aligned, and no cracked welds, adjust or remedy were needed.

Clear of all debris.
​​

Check castor wheels are free of debris and operating fully including brakes.
​​

Check all leg sets cross braces for damage, cracked welds, level and alignment, adjust or remedy were needed.

MAIN CONTROL PANEL

Check all button functions operate correctly, all button legends present.
​​

Check all H/S signage is present and correct.
​​

Check HMI screen condition.
​​
-
Check start up traffic light beacon fully operating.
-
Check start up warning klaxon fully operating.
​​
-
Clear out any debris.
​​
-
Check master safety relays.
​​
-
Clear out panel air filters.
-
Check all wiring coming into panel for frayed, damaged or exposed wires, replace or remedy if needed.
​​

Full check of all terminals inside panel to be done once a year to ensure no loose terminals or cable ferrules.
​​

Ensure panel isolator fully operates.
​​
-
Ensure panel door lock work correctly.
​
GENERAL SERVICE FOR WHOLE SYSTEM
​

All conveyors will be cleaned of debris including sticky labels and the carbon footprint of the conveyor system.
-
All conveyors checked for level and alignment and rectified were needed.
​​
-
Where needed oiled and greased.
-
All Mechanical parts checked including any grub screws, pulleys, bearings.
-
All wiring checked for frayed or exposed wires and secure terminals.
​​
-
Where needed any repairs or replacement parts to be carried out alongside service routines.
​​
