Vacancy: (French/German/Italian/Portuguese/Spanish speaking) Product Support Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Product Support Engineer with one of our top technology clients in the Hertford area. An experienced product support engineer or IT helpdesk technician with an electrical engineering degree or HNC and a second language of French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish would be an ideal candidate for this role.

You will fulfil a lead internal service role satisfying customer and field service demand for after sales support on an array of electrical equipment and associated software. Including the direct provision of maintenance and repair along with telephone support. You will deliver fantastic customer support as well as being a valued team member providing feedback for the wider team.

Your Responsibilities

Direct provision of high-level support to distributors, customers, and colleagues on the occasions when advanced technical and operating procedure familiarity is required.
Respond to routine enquiries from customers about the technical aspects of the organisation’s products and services.
Troubleshoot issues across networking, desktop, mobile and other IT infrastructure systems.
Analyses and documents/processes and metrics and identifies improvement opportunities to deliver greater effectiveness’s and efficiency.
To assist with testing and quality control of all new devices prior to dispatch.
Ensure relevant documentation is fully completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Raising a QMS for any quality problems or defects for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem with your manager.
Compilation of equipment fault data and communication of this and other pertinent information to other departments within the company in a professional manner.
On-going training to enhance individual technical competency.
Engaging with other teams to ensure the required deliverables are being provided and met effectively.

Skills and Knowledge

HNC or equivalent in Electronics/electrical engineering.
Excellent engineering capability with good communication and organisational skills.
Experience gained in customer focused service organization maintaining sophisticated electronic hardware and software.
You may be required, from time to time, to work to global time zones, mainly European.
A good level of foreign language communication in either French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish.
Successful completion of company training required (including training done at company location). Must become fully competent in the application and operation of all assigned products and systems.
Required to register with a vendor credentialing service. As part of this process, may be required to submit personal information to a credentialing service company, provide proof of vaccinations or related medical information, and comply with other requirements needed to be able to work at customer site.
Must maintain a good driving record and be insurable per company policy.
Basic SQL Knowledge.
A networking background would be advantageous.
Experience with medical messaging protocols (HL7 and DICOM) is advantageous.
Domestic travel may be required on occasion.
Experience with web-based (IIS) systems is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
Excellent relationship builder.
