Job Description
The purpose of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer is to provide a flexible electrically biased Multi-skilled Engineer approach to maintenance activities.
The fundamentals of which are to restore, improve & maintain conveyor systems & equipment to achieve optimum performance, while working safely at all times.
Reporting to the Regional Escalation Shift Engineer, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for the completion of daily and weekly tasks in a timely manner, adopting an analytical approach to problem solving, to identify the root cause of failures, proposing appropriate corrective/sustaining actions.
Your Responsibilities
- Familiar with organisational safety requirements e.g. Isolation & Permit's to Work.
- Familiar with all types of AC/DC motors and associated control systems
- Ability to replace analogue and digital components
- Knowledge of Inverters with the ability to fit alternative systems when required
- Sound knowledge of 415V, 3 phase, 240V single phase electrical installations
- Ability to read and fault find electrical and schematic drawings
- Using The appropriate test equipment, ability to identify defective components
- Hourly WhatsApp updates on site group. Report any faults to Escalation Engineer and on WhatsApp site group
- Complete nightly iAuditor checks at your core site (Mon-Fri) and alternating satellite sites, if required
- Complete nightly Joblogic process
- Complete Innovate timesheet portal/WFM
- Maintain stock check / spare parts request / updating group with stock shortages Keeping store cage tidy
- Report any issues / call escalation within 15 minutes of a breakdown with regular updates
- Permit to Work completed
- Check in / iAuditor at satellite sites as requested
- Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times
- Must have own vehicle and be willing to travel to other local sites to support engineering activities
- Light cleaning on the systems
- Own tools are required for the role
- If fault – if not resolved in 1 hour must be highlighted to escalation engineer as additional support maybe required
Skills and Knowledge
- Must be competent in electrical and light mechanical engineering.
- Completed an Electrical Maintenance/Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Familiar with organisational safety requirements e.g. Isolation & Permit's to Work.
Experience
At least 4 years' experience within an industrialised manufacturing environment
