Job Description

A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, experienced and focused Electrical Controls Design Engineer to drive their career forward and work for a stand-out global market-leader and world-class OEM.

As a top performing Electrical Controls Design Engineer, you will have total responsibility for electrical and control systems design activity, including works surrounding installation and service. Ensuring all electrical design activities are managed in line with defined delivery dates, maintaining a exacting quality standard and within a tight budgetary/financial framework.

Your Responsibilities

• Produce project specific control philosophies and associated design risk assessments.
• Design automated systems for machine control applications (concept design through to final design, installation and commissioning)
• Produce Electrical Designs (using Eplan) based on IEC standards and statutory legislation, in line with customer specification and project requirements.
• Control Panel design - General Arrangements, Detailed drawings, Schematics Diagrams, Motor Starters & Drives, Safety Circuits, etc.
• Specification of hardware and production of parts list, as well as Manufacturing specifications.
• PLC programming (typically Siemens and Allen Bradley)
• HMI programming
• Creation of machine technical manuals (Electrical/Controls content only)
• Must be willing to travel in UK, Europe and ROW during Commissioning Phase

Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of machinery directive and subsequent standards
• Fully competent in the use of Eplan P8
• Design of software control systems using Siemens TIA Portal

Experience

• HNC / HND / Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Equivalent), relevant to subject knowledge.
• Prior experience of developing control systems from concept design through to final design, installation and commissioning.
