Job Description
Responsible for the day to day support and administration of the company and Product Data Management systems.
Your Responsibilities
• Manage and support the implementation of Solidworks Mechanical & Electrical PDM, including best practice Design Data File access and storage
• Manage the withdrawal of legacy Design applications within the company engineering departments.
• Provide end user support and guidance for all engineering design applications.
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors to resolve CAD & PDM issues.
• Work with the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering managers to develop & maintain company CAD & PDM standards.
• Administration and support of the CAD platforms.
• Generation of Work Instructions for CAD & PDM to standardise usage.
• Perform software upgrades and new system implementations.
• Provide end user support and guidance in the use of PDM and Solidworks applications.
• Provide onboarding support for new design staff.
• Keep abreast of trends and developments with current CAD & PDM software and promote process improvements.
• Undertake any training required
• Promote and maintain a lean approach; eliminating waste and adding value.
• Logging support calls via the internal ticketing system.
• To undertake such duties as the Company may determine from time to time.
Skills and Knowledge
- Well organised and results driven with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks.
- Working knowledge of SQL, BOM structures, change management and design principles.
- Comfortable providing structured training to new end users.
- Able to break down and simplify existing processes.
- Knowledge of Data and Change management within an engineering department including a basic understanding of Design Engineering terminology.
- Design and maintenance of PDM workflows.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of providing administrative support to engineering design teams.
- Exposure to Solidworks Mechanical and Electrical CAD & PDM software.
